I find this such a fantastic book, but really quite strange and unlike any other book I have ever read. It is very amusing however, and even though very strange things happen in Wonderland it does make me think it is a fascinating place to be.
I often wish I could change things in my life just by drinking something or eating something!
I love Alice’s philosophical attitude to everything too - strange and unusual things are happening all around her that she can’t understand, but she just tells herself to go with the flow and not worry about things - I don’t think I would be that calm!
The White Rabbit has always been my favourite character - I just love to imagine him in his neat waistcoat, gloves and fan, he is a wonderful creation. Other characters I enjoy are Pat the Irishman at the White Rabbit’s house, the huge puppy that Alice sees diving for sticks when she is tiny, and the Queen’s gardeners as packs of cards busy painting the white roses red.
A very unusual and fascinating book, but enormous fun!
