I am Lizzie, and I am addicted to reading books, it is my whole life! I always have several books on the go, as well as thoughts about previous books going round in my head. I was keen to read another Henry James’ novel after reading the unusual and clever The Turn of the Screw, as I was interested to see if his writing style, which I found extremely detailed (and possibly a little convoluted at times) in The Turn of the Screw, would be similar in other books. I was also interested in seeing how an American author would write about English upper-class life, and how a male author would write about a female's life and choices and decisions and difficulties.
